Pankaj AdvaniReigning World Professional Champion Pankaj Advani overcame a spirited challenge from Peter Gilchrist in the final of the 9th Asian Championship to take the Gold medal 6-5.  The tournament, held in Indore, India, attracted   a wealth of talent from all over Asia, including Kyaw Oo from Myanmar and Praput Chaithanasakun from Thialand who were losing semi-fianlists. 19th December 2009

Peter Gilchrist (Singapore)Singapore's Peter Gilchrist took the Gold medal in the 25th South East Asian Games held in Laos, defeating Kyaw Oo from Myanmar in the final following victory over Praput Chaithansakun (Thailand) in the semi-final. Gilchrist also took the Bronze medal in the doubles with partner Lim Chun Kyat. Full details and results can be found HERE

 

5th October 2009

England's Peter Shelley upstaged fellow countryman Brian Harvey to win the 2009 New Zealand Open Championship, despite Harvey making the highest break of the tournament (182) in the final held in Auckland. Shelley defeated the 2008 champion, Grant Hayward (New Zealand) in fine style in the semi-final. Full results can be found HERE

 

26th September 2009

Pankaj Advani added the Indian National Billiards title to the World Professional and IBSF World titles he already has by defeating Geet Sethi in the final held in Agra, India. Full results for this event can be found HERE

 

7th September 2009

Pankaj Advani added the World Professional title to his ever growing list of honours by defeating 9 times world champion and favourite Mike Russell at the Northern Snooker Centre in Leeds.

17 players contested the championships, including EBOS's very own leading amateur players Martin Goodwill and Rob Hall, together with new professional Bem French. Click HERE for the full results.

 

28th June 2009

Steve Mifsud defeated Matthew Bolton 6-4 to the final of the 2009 Australian Open Billiards Championship held at the Brunswick Club in Melbourne. The event, held under the 150up format saw both players ease their way to the final without dropping a game. Both Mifsud and Bolton shared the highest break prize with game winning runs of 154.
